What It Is

Udyam registration (central MSME registry) officially registers micro, small and medium enterprises. Registration provides access to incentives, schemes, easier credit, and priority in government procurement. Although Udyam is a central online system, Uttarakhand businesses commonly require it to claim state MSME benefits. 

Issuing Authority

Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (Government of India) issues Udyam registration via the national portal; state nodal bodies (District Industries Centres / Uttarakhand MSME support bodies) assist with advisory and scheme linkage.

Eligibility

Classification based on investment in plant & machinery/equipment and annual turnover per current central definitions. Registration is largely self-declared on the Udyam portal (digital, paperless). (Refer to the Udyam portal for current thresholds.)

Key documents / information required

• Aadhaar number of proprietor / authorized signatory (for validation)
• PAN and GSTIN (if available)
• Enterprise details: business name, bank account details, activity

(manufacturing/service), NIC code, investment and turnover figures.
Udyam is designed to be paperless; no document upload is required at initial registration (verification happens electronically).
